a bit about me:
I teach because I know that I can make a big impact even by focusing on just one student’s life. Young people have so much potential to bring change to the world—and I mean that in a practical, non-cliché way—but we are failing to prepare students for the real, practical world. I believe that teachers can still incorporate real-world application into the curriculum, without being limited by state standards. With so much emphasis being placed on getting the grade, students are so much more apt to regurgitating memorized information for a test or even cheating, instead of learning and retaining the skills and knowledge needed to be successful. Therefore, I strongly believe in the importance of teaching students the skill of how to learn, so that they can be successful not only for the moment, but for life.
